GlowLog (“GlowLog,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides an AI-powered beauty intelligence and skin-tracking platform that helps you understand your skin, routines, makeup prep, glow progress, and beauty patterns over time.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect information when you use GlowLog, including our website at glowlogs.com, our web application, the AI Beauty Studio, skin analysis tools, subscription features, and related services. By using GlowLog, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of GlowLog, and information processed by trusted service providers that help us operate the platform.
Account information
When you create an account, we may collect your name, email address, login credentials or authentication identifiers, profile preferences, subscription status, account settings, and communication preferences.
Facial images and selfies
GlowLog allows you to upload facial images or selfies for beauty and skin analysis. These images may be used to provide features such as skin analysis, glow tracking, progress comparisons, routine insights, Makeup Check AI, Foundation Match, Event Prep Mode, AI Beauty Studio reports, and personalized beauty and routine recommendations.
GlowLog does not use your facial images to identify, authenticate, or verify who you are. We do not use facial images for identity verification, surveillance, or law-enforcement identification, and we do not sell your facial images.
Skin and beauty analysis data
When you use GlowLog, we may generate and store beauty and skin-related analysis data, including skin texture, tone and glow observations, redness or blemish appearance, dark-circle and pore visibility, hydration or dryness cues, makeup-readiness insights, foundation shade or undertone outputs, routine progress reports, before-and-after comparisons, Glow Reports, AI-generated recommendations, your saved skincare routines, and product usage notes. This information is used to provide cosmetic, beauty, wellness, and routine-tracking insights. GlowLog does not provide medical diagnosis, medical treatment, or professional dermatology advice.
Biometric-adjacent data
Because GlowLog processes facial images and skin-related visual information, some of the information we process may be considered sensitive or biometric-adjacent in certain locations. GlowLog does not intentionally create or store biometric templates, faceprints, or facial geometry to identify, authenticate, or verify a person. Where face detection or facial-region positioning is used, it is used only to help position, analyze, or compare beauty and skin-related features within the app — not to identify you as a person.
Skin tone data (Melanin Intelligence™)
If you enable Melanin Mode, we collect your Monk Skin Tone level to provide calibrated, unbiased skin analysis. This data is used exclusively to improve the accuracy of your analysis. It is never used for profiling or advertising, and you can disable Melanin Mode and delete this data at any time.
Information you enter
You may choose to provide details such as skin type, skin concerns, makeup preferences, routine steps, product names, lifestyle notes, beauty goals, event-prep needs, sensitivities, and personal notes. Please do not enter medical records, diagnostic information, or prescriptions unless the app specifically requests it and explains why.
Payment and subscription information
GlowLog uses Stripe to handle subscriptions and payments. We may receive and store limited payment-related information such as your subscription plan and status, billing period, starter-offer status, payment success or failure status, your Stripe customer ID, invoice status, and transaction metadata. GlowLog does not store your full credit card number. Card details are processed by Stripe according to its own privacy and security practices.
Usage and device information
We may collect your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages viewed, features used, session activity, referring URLs, error logs, performance data, approximate location derived from your IP address, and analytics events. This helps us improve GlowLog, diagnose bugs, prevent fraud, and understand how the platform is used.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide AI-powered skin and beauty analysis and generate Glow Reports and progress insights
- To personalize beauty, routine, and makeup recommendations and support AI Beauty Studio features
- To track your skin and routine progress over time
- To provide subscription access and process payments through Stripe
- To authenticate users, store preferences, and secure accounts
- To improve app performance, debug errors, and prevent misuse, fraud, or abuse
- To communicate service updates and respond to support requests
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not use facial images to identify you as a person, we do not sell facial images or skin-analysis data, and we do not use your uploaded facial images to train AI models unless you have been clearly asked for separate permission and have opted in.
3. Facial Image Processing and Consent
By uploading a facial image or selfie, you confirm that: you are the person shown in the image, or you have permission to upload it; you understand GlowLog will process the image to generate beauty, skin, routine, or makeup-related insights; you understand GlowLog is not using the image to identify or authenticate you; you understand AI-generated outputs may be imperfect; and you understand GlowLog does not provide medical advice. You should not upload images of other people without their permission, and you should not upload images of children or images intended for medical diagnosis.
4. Image Storage and Retention
To provide progress tracking, before-and-after comparisons, Glow history, and saved reports, GlowLog stores the images you upload and the analysis reports generated from them, associated with your account. Your images and reports remain stored until you delete them, you delete your account, we no longer need them to provide the service, or we are required to retain limited records for legal, security, or billing reasons.
You can delete individual photos, delete your analysis history, or delete your entire account at any time (see “Your Rights and Deletion” below). When you delete content, we delete or de-identify the associated personal information, except where limited retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or billing purposes.
5. AI Processing and Service Providers
GlowLog relies on trusted service providers to operate the platform. These providers process data on our behalf only as needed to provide their services to us, and they are not authorized to sell your facial images or skin-analysis data. They include:
- Stripe — payments and subscription management (Stripe Privacy Policy)
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — secure cloud storage for uploaded images and files
- Abacus.AI — application hosting, database infrastructure, and AI processing for skin and beauty analysis
- Google Analytics (GA4) — aggregate, privacy-focused usage analytics (Google Privacy Policy)
6. How We Share Information
We may share information with the service providers listed above; with Stripe for payment processing; and for legal and safety purposes — for example, to comply with law, respond to legal process, protect our rights, prevent fraud, investigate abuse, protect user safety, or enforce our Terms of Service. If GlowLog is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards. We may also share information when you direct us to or provide consent. We do not sell your facial images or skin-analysis data.
7. What We Do Not Do
GlowLog does not: sell your facial images; use your facial images for identity verification or law-enforcement identification; use facial recognition to identify you; intentionally create faceprints for identity authentication; provide medical diagnosis; replace a dermatologist, physician, or esthetician; guarantee specific skin, beauty, or health outcomes; or train AI models on your uploaded facial images unless you separately opt in.
8. Your Rights and Deletion
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your information; delete uploaded images and analysis history; request a copy of your data; object to certain processing; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and opt out of certain analytics or marketing communications.
You can export your skin analysis history from your account settings, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data (photos, analysis history, skin tone data, routine data) by contacting us at [email protected]. Upon deletion, we permanently remove or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, except where limited retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or billing purposes. Payment records may be retained by Stripe and by us as required by law.
9. Data Security
GlowLog uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections, secure cloud storage, access controls, authentication protections, and logging and monitoring. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong password and protect your login credentials.
10. Data Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Account data is retained until account deletion or as required by law; uploaded images and analysis reports are retained until you delete them or delete your account; subscription and billing metadata is retained as needed for billing, tax, fraud-prevention, and legal records; and analytics and security logs are retained for a limited period consistent with security and fraud-prevention needs.
11. Children and Minors
GlowLog is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information, facial images, or skin-analysis data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a minor without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it. If you believe a minor has provided information to GlowLog, please contact us at [email protected].
12. International Users
GlowLog operates from Ontario, Canada, and may process and store information in Canada, the United States, and other countries where our service providers operate. If you access GlowLog from outside these countries, your information may be transferred internationally. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
13. Region-Specific Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under privacy laws such as Canadian privacy law (including PIPEDA), the California Consumer Privacy Act and other U.S. state privacy laws, and the European Union and United Kingdom GDPR. These rights may include access, deletion, correction, portability, consent withdrawal, or objection to certain processing. Users in certain U.S. states may also have the right to know what personal information is collected, to know whether information is sold or shared (we do not sell facial images or skin-analysis data), to delete or correct personal information, and to limit certain sensitive-data uses. To make a request, contact us at [email protected].
14. Biometric and Consumer Health Data Notice
Some jurisdictions regulate facial images, facial geometry, skin-analysis information, biometric identifiers, or consumer health data. GlowLog’s intended use is beauty, wellness, and cosmetic self-tracking. GlowLog does not use facial images for identification, authentication, or recognition, does not create faceprints for identity purposes, and does not make medical claims. We ask for your confirmation before processing facial images and provide ways for you to delete facial images and related analysis data.
15. Marketing Communications
If you opt in to marketing communications, we may send you updates, offers, product tips, or beauty insights. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. Transactional emails related to your account, subscription, security, or service usage may still be sent.
16. Cookies and Analytics
GlowLog uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the app is used so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect aggregate, non-identifying usage data such as which pages are visited and which features are used. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
When you first visit GlowLog, a cookie banner lets you accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or choose which categories to allow. Strictly necessary cookies (for sign-in, security, and remembering your preferences) are always active because the app cannot function without them. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) load only if you consent, and no analytics scripts run until you opt in. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie Preferences” link in the footer.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Disabling cookies may affect how some parts of the app function.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we may notify you by email, by in-app notice, or by updating the effective date above. Your continued use of GlowLog after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
