Understanding Your Glow Score: What It Means & How to Improve It

GlowLog Team June 15, 2026 6 min read

Your Glow Score is GlowLog's proprietary metric that combines multiple skin health indicators into a single 0-100 score. But what actually drives this number?

The Five Pillars of Your Glow Score

1. Hydration Level (25%) — How well-moisturized your skin appears. Dehydrated skin reflects light poorly, leading to a dull appearance. Tip: Apply hyaluronic acid serum on damp skin for maximum absorption.

2. Evenness & Tone (25%) — How uniform your skin tone is across all facial zones. Dark spots, redness patches, and uneven pigmentation lower this component.

3. Texture (20%) — Smooth, refined skin texture scores highest. Visible pores, roughness, and bumpy texture bring this down.

4. Clarity (20%) — Freedom from active breakouts, blemishes, and congestion. Even one inflamed pimple can impact this metric.

5. Radiance (10%) — That lit-from-within glow. This measures how well your skin reflects light and appears luminous.

How to Boost Your Score

  • Stay consistently hydrated — drink water and use a good moisturizer
  • Wear SPF daily to prevent hyperpigmentation
  • Use gentle exfoliation 2-3x per week
  • Get 7-8 hours of sleep for skin regeneration
  • Log consistently so the AI can track your progress accurately

Remember: your Glow Score is calibrated for YOUR skin. If you've enabled Melanin Mode, the AI accounts for your Monk Skin Tone level, ensuring melanin darkness is never penalized.
